It's easy to become obsessed by detail. At least, it is for me. I've long intended to produce an illustration of each of the main aircraft in The Larks, but each one takes so many hours that it's taken years to get to this one. They're produced digitally, using PhotoShop, and drawn using a Bamboo graphics tablet. I like this approach because it lets me sketch organically, as if I were using a pencil or a brush, but it gives me the luxury of no cock-up being permanent. If only life worked along similar lines. All the images show the aircraft fully horizontal, as it might appear in flight. for the blog illustration, I've rotated it into ground attitude, and I think I like it more. I'm tempted to do a second version of all of them; what do you think?
If you'd like a copy, this is available as a print on my Etsy store very shortly. All prints are available as A4, A3 or A2.
Now that I've completed The Larks set, I rather fancy trying my hand at the Mark 1 Tank from Deafender in All This Way for a Shilling.
